Who We Are
Welcome to Market Harborough - next stop London!
Welcome to the Harborough Rail Users website. HRU is an independent, voluntary, fully constituted organisation and is represented on the Steering Group of Travelwatch East Midlands (TWEM). We also have a close working relationship with Railfuture, the national independent organisation campaigning for a bigger and better railway.
We have worked with Passenger Focus (now Transport Focus) and we have regular liaison with Network Rail and the current train operator, East Midlands Railway (EMR).
Harborough Rail Users seeks to represent all users of Market Harborough station, whether regular commuters or occasional travellers. We campaigned successfully to retain the half-hourly train service in the previous East Midlands Trains franchise and we aim to ensure that Market Harborough’s rail users continue to be well served. HRU holds open meetings from time to time that anyone can attend, has its own Committee meetings and, crucially, arranges at least one meeting a year with East Midlands Railway (previously East Midlands Trains). The Committee is elected each year at an AGM, which is held in the town and is a public meeting open to all.
